Thanks Kev. Looks interesting and relevant. You must be careful about balancing the requirement to fully describe your work and IP issues that may be involved. Please move on ASAP with the preparation of the draft proposal. There is a variety of equipment including simulators that are installed and temporarily alter the status of systems to support these tests. Simulators are designed to interface with systems, similarly to a device they are simulating, to verify the system interfaces with a device properly. The advantage of using simulators is that it allows for interface tests without using an actual device. It also allows for testing of abnormal device conditions to verify the systems can identify faults. This project will be an investigation of a simulator(s) that did not replicate a device properly. Differences between the simulator(s) with an actual device will be identified. The device will be considered the baseline and differences of the simulator(s) will be measured from baseline.
