Descrição
The first GBE barrier in the USA was installed in December, 2009 at Jemez Canyon
Dam, – which is used for flood control in central New Mexico, and is located north
of Albuquerque and Bernalillo. The project consisted of 122 m long and 3 m height
barrier, with a 40 ft post spacing. It was planed by the US Army Corps of Engineers
to protect workers who drive on the road to maintain the structures, pump house,
etc. from falling rocks. Groundhog Excavating, a first time installing contractor,
liked the lightweight components and relative ease of installation of the GBE1000A rockfall barrier. The fully installed barrier took 8 days to construct.
